Leaving San Jacinto is a new and exciting play by Diana Howie, in-house playwright at the Country Playhouse. It is being directed by Dianne K. Webb (Director of Shunya’s production of Art), and the Assistant Director is Anjana Menon (AD for Art and actor, The Prophet and the Poet). It is set in Texas of 1836, soon after the Battle of San Jacinto, when three important figures in Texas history; Sam Houston, Santa Anna and Lorenzo de Zavala; find themselves aboard the Yellow Stone in each others company enroute to Galveston. The play takes place entirely on the prow of the boat!
Please note that Leaving San Jacinto will be playing for one weekend only, between Thursday February 28th to Sunday March 3. Tickets are at $28.00 apiece.
